New plays can have a journey of development that spans a few months to many years. Truth: a biofictional choreopoem was conceived from unique and fragmented stories and historical data about black female abolitionists gathered over a year at unheralded sites of conscience as well as more prominent and established historical institutions. This exhibit explores the ways that history becomes a biofictional choreopoem that amplifies black female resistance to slavery.

As part of the exhibition, the Bristol Historical and Preservation Society loaned "Historical TRUTH" a portion of "The Timeline of Enslavement in Bristol, RI," a 56-foot timeline of U.S. slavery used to offer interpretive analysis of the unique role Bristol, RI played in the slave trade. "The Timeline of Enslavement in Bristol, RI" was recently awarded The Award of Excellence by the American Association for State and Local History.
